What is the main benefit of using BNG Conserve?

Who approves a supplier/contractor to be added to a client's approved contractor list?

Initially, clients will provide us with a list of all contractors that they wish to be registered and approved against a minimum prequalification criteria. Any contractor who then registers, that is on the initial list and provides all documentation kto meet the minimum criterial will be approved. A client can also request a registered contractor to be added to the approved contractor list and provide dispensation against the minimum criteria.

If I have multiple staff that I wish to have access to our dashboard, what do I need to do to register them?

Multiple logins can be created for each client. Only one primary contact and secondary contact will have the ability to request any changes. It is recommended that clients ensure that only staff who need access to Conserve and contractor information have access to the client dashboard.

What information is stored in Conserve for my approved contractors?

Your BNG client services manager will liaise with you to ensure all the necessary information/documentation required by you from your contractors are listed on your validation criteria. Once you have approved your validation criteria, this list will be used to advise your contractors on what information/documentation they are required to upload into Conserve. This information may include but is not limited to; Certificate of business registration, ABN Registration, Certificate of Currency for Insurances, Work Cover certificates, WHS Documents, Employee qualifications and licences, WHS management systems, etc.

Can I obtain reports and copies of documentation that my contractors have recorded on Conserve?

Yes. Conserve has a number of different reports available. We also offer an archiving service for a nominal fee. To discuss the archiving option, we recommend you contact our office to discuss in detail.

Clients can also download and view documentaion of contractors assigned to them at any time.

I have entered my login details on the Conserve website but I am unable to access my Conserve dashboard

It is important to ensure that your web browser allows pop ups. For further information on how to enable pop ups for browser, please check with your IT administrator. Should you continue to experience difficulties accessing the Conserve dashboard, please contact the BNG office and our staff will be able to help guide you through any difficulties you may have.

My username and password combination doesn’t work

If you have forgotten your username and/or password, simply click on the link Forgot User ID/Password and you will be prompted to enter your email address. An email will be sent with your username and password to the nominated email address. Please ensure the email address you are using is the one you have registered with Conserve. If this does not work, please contact the BNG Contractor Services office.

Who do I contact if I have any questions regarding Conserve or how to use the system?

The Conserve Specialist Support Team are available Monday – Friday 9am to 5pm, over the phone or email (see the Contact section of the website) to help you with any questions or issues you may have with the Conserve system. Alternatively you can complete the enquiry form and one of our staff will call you.

Does the system use any special software?

No, Conserve is an online platform accessed via a web browser. There is no requirement to download or install any software locally.

How do we know if a new contractor we are looking to engage is already registered with BNG Conserve?

Using the search function, clients can search for new contractors who they wish to engage. This function will allow clients to see if they are currently registered on Conserve. Clients will not be able to see contractor’s documentation until they are added to their approved contractors list.

What notification do I receive if a contractor is de-activated in Conserve?

Clients will receive email notification should a contractor be de-activated. Contractors will be de-activated for either non-payment of Conserve annual licence fee or expired insurances.

A contractor will be given 28 days’ notice prior to their renewal date. The contractor is then given a further 30 days (credit), before a contractor goes into full closure.

Contractors whose insurances require updating will be advised 28 days before expiry. Contractors will be automatically de-activated in Conserve the day after the expiry date of the insurance, and reminded every 7 days until the insurance is renewed.

Can anybody access the contractor details?

No. You will only have access to information / documentation for contractors who are on your ‘approved contractor list’. You will be able to see limited information such as company name, address and contact numbers for contractors registered in Conserve who have not been assigned to your ‘approved contractor list’.

How secure is the documentation uploaded by the contractors?

Conserve has 3 levels of visibility of information / documentation in the system, all controlled by user identification and password.

  • 1st level access – by contractors. All contractors have visibility of their respective information only in the system.
  • 2nd level access – by clients. All clients have visibility of their own and all their contractors (approved contractors) information only in the system.
  • 3rd level access – by BNG. As administrators of the system, we have visibility of all information in the system.

I haven’t received my username and password

If you have registered with Conserve and have yet to receive an email with username and password, please first check your junk mail in your email inbox to ensure it has not been received there. If after checking your junk mail and you still have not received your username and password, please contact the Conserve Specialist Support Team who will be able to help you with your enquiry.

How do I remove a contractor from my dashboard?

Any information that needs to be deleted or removed from a dashboard can only be completed by a staff member of BNG. Should you require a contractor to be removed from your dashboard, it is recommended that you contact the Conserve Specialist Support Team. Changes to a client’s dashboard must be requested by either the primary client contact (or the secondary contact, should the primary contact be unavailable).

Why do we pay for this system and what do I get for my fee?

Conserve has been designed as a ‘user pays’ system. The system has been designed to ensure both our Clients and Contractors receive benefits from being registered with Conserve. For a full list of benefits to the contractor, please read the Contractor Info.

I have been asked by another BNG Client to complete work for them, how do I get added to their Approved Contractor List in Conserve?

Please contact the staff at BNG and advise them that you have been requested to complete work for another BNG Client. BNG staff will first obtain confirmation from the client prior to any supplier/contractor being added to that client’s approved contractors list.

Can all clients registered with BNG Conserve see my company details or access my documentation?

No. Clients will only have access to documents for contractors who are listed in their approved contractors list. Limited information such as company name, address and contact numbers for contractors listed in BNG is available to all BNG Clients should they wish to search for additional contractors.

What notification will I receive if my Conserve Annual License fee is due to expire?

You will be given 28 days’ notice for renewal of annual licence (sent via email). Our staff will contact you for a friendly reminder. You will be deactivated for non-payment should payment not be received on the due date. A further credit of one month is given, however a contractor cannot make any changes to their dashboard until payment is made. A contractor will go into full closure, should payment not be received one month after the licence fee is due. Should a contractor go into full closure, and requests to be re-activated, the contractor will be required to re-register with conserve and re-upload ALL documentation.

What notification will I receive if my other information is due to expire?

You will receive email alerts, 28, 7 and the day before expiry as well as the day after and every 7 days after to ensure all information / documentation in the system is maintained and kept current.

How do I register for BNG Conserve?

To register with BNG Conserve, simply click on the Register button, you will be required to complete the registration and pay your Conserve annual licence fees prior to accessing your dashboard.

What will my employees be issued with after completing an induction?

Upon successful completion of an induction, employees will be issued with an induction card which should be printed and have handy when accessing your client’s premises.

Who is a Registered Contractor?

A registered Contractor is a Contractor who has initiated the first step of the accreditation process by completing the online registration for their business. This involves providing some basic information such business name; ABN; address; contact details etc.

What does Assignment mean?

An accredited contractor maybe assigned to a different client provided that client’s specified criteria is met. On assignment, the contractor will be included in that client’s approved contractor list as well. Contractors maybe assigned to multiple clients without additional work or costs.

Who is a De-Activated Contractor?

A de-activated contractor is an approved contractor who has been temporarily de-activated in BNG Conserve, due to expiry of insurance documentation. Re-activation will occur as soon as current insurance information is uploaded into BNG Conserve.

How do I pay my annual licence fees and how long is it valid for?

For contractors registering with Conserve for the first time, you will receive a prompt after completing your registration details to complete your payment online with a credit card. Preferred method of payment is via our online payment system using a credit card, however payments can be made via direct deposit or cheque (we request that should you wish to pay your annual licence fee via direct deposit or cheque that you contact our staff to receive payment details).

Conserve licence fees must be renewed annually. You will be issued with a renewal invoice 28 days prior to expiry of your licence.

Does the system use any special software?

No, Conserve is a web based system accessible 24/7 via the internet. You do not have to download or acquire any special software.

Do I have to pay additional licence fees if I am added to multiple clients?

No, contractors maybe assigned to multiple clients as a part of their one annual licence fee.

What information/documentation do I need to provide/upload into Conserve?

The client you are assigned to in Conserve will have an agreed criteria which you will be required to meet. Once you register with Conserve you will receive an email outlining the information / documentation that you will be required to upload prior to being accredited and listed as an approved contractor for the client.

What notification will I receive if my Insurance’s are due to expire?

Should your insurances require updating, you will be advised via email 28 days before expiry, followed by 7 days before and the day before expiry. The day after your insurance’s have expired you and the client will receive an email notification from Conserve, at which time your dashboard will be temporarily de-activated. You will then receive an email alert every 7 days until the insurance is updated in Conserve.

What happens if I have a different contractor validation criteria for multiple clients?

Contractors who are assigned to multiple clients will be required to meet the contractor validation criteria set out for all their clients. What this means is once you have met the highest level of criteria required by a client, you will then meet all other client’s criteria as well.

How do I delete an employee from my dashboard?

Any changes required to be made in the Conserve system must be completed by a staff member of BNG. It is recommended that you email through any changes that you require.

How much does an induction cost?

Inductions are free to employees of accredited contractors.

What does Accreditation mean?

Once all relevant information (as specified by the client) has been submitted by the contractor on-line, BNG will review and verify that the client specified criteria has been met. The contractor is then formally accredited as an approved contractor for that client.

Who is an Approved Contractor?

An approved contractor is a contractor who has met all client specified criteria and is listed in that client’s “approved contractor” list. Clients will only engage contractors from their approved contractors list.

I have been advised that I need to complete an induction, what do I need to do?

Once your employer has registered your details within Conserve and has enrolled you to complete an induction, you will be issued with an employee ID. Simply log on to the Conserve website, click login, change the Logon Type drop down to Employee-Induction and then type in your employee ID.

Once you have completed your induction, you will be issued with an Induction Card. It is important that you print this out and ensure that you have it with you every time you visit site for the client who you have been issued with the induction for.

Who do I contact if I am having problems completing my induction?

If you are experiencing difficulties completing the induction, please contact the BNG office. Our staff are on hand to help.

What do I need to take to site to show I have passed the induction?

Once you have completed your induction, you will be issued with an induction card. You will need to print this out and have it handy every time you access the client’s site.
